摘要：The invention relates to a method for determining the frequency spectrum (9)of sample radiation that is propagated in a waveguide (6) in a forward direction, a firstpumped beam (11) being coupled into the waveguide (6) in the opposite direction, saidbeam causing stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in the sample radiation and thefrequency of the first pumped beam (11) being modified in such a way that the narrow-band gain peak (10) of the SBS that has been shifted by the Brillouin shift moves throughthe frequency spectrum (9) of the sample radiation. The intensity of the forwardpropagating radiation is measured by means of a detector (8) and the output signal ofthe detector (8) is registered in accordance with the modified frequency of the firstpumped beam (11). The frequency spectrum (9) of the pumped beam is determined fromthe change in the output signal. A second pumped beam (13) is coupled into thewaveguide (6) parallel to the first pumped beam (11), said second pumped beam (13)generating a Brillouin loss (12) that is wider than the gain peak (10) of the first pumpedbeam (11) by a multiple of said peak, the loss peak (12) of the second pumped beam (13)being set in the frequency spectrum (9) of the sample radiation.
