摘要：An optical information reading apparatus comprises an optical integrationcircuit type pickup (A) in which an optical waveguide (4) for guiding light and a condensingcoupler (3) for condensing the guided light propagating within the optical waveguide areformed on an optical integration circuit substrate (1). Sub-couplers (100,102) radiate a

part of the injected light on the surface of an information recording medium in the vicinityof a light spot (8) formed by the optical pickup. Subsidiary light detection elements(101a,101b,103a,103b) receive reflection light of the light radiated from the sub-couplersreflected from the information recording medium surface. The sub-couplers and thesubsidiary light detection elements are formed integrally with the optical pickup on theoptical integration circuit substrate (1). Thereby the detection error can be reduced and,as it is not necessary to use attachment parts, therefore the apparatus can be integratedto thereby make it possible to minimize its size.
